Something to get the train on the tracks….

….I’m not saying this is how you’re supposed to do it, I’m just saying this is what works for me, right?

You will need:

A Food Blender (don’t go mad, you can pick ’em up fairly cheap; mine cost about twenty quid from Asda, I think. Mind you, get a cheap one and you’ll need another in about six months).

Half a carton of Apple or Orange juiceĀ  (again, don’t go mad, you’re just using this as a base).

Half a tub of Natural Yoghurt.

2 Tablespoons Rolled Oats.

4 Tablespoons Summer Fruits, such as Strawberries or Blackberries (the fresher the better, although I tend to pick up lots of the frozen kind. Keeps the whole thing chilled when it’s done).

2 Apples (I like the red ones here. Juicy).

1 Banana (2 if you’re sharing with a friend that morning).

1 Tablespoon Clear Honey.

Plonk the juice in the blender first, add the rest, and give it about a minute, with a break after about thirty seconds to let it settle.

And there you go, your morning smoothie. Gets a couple of your five a day in first thing in the morning, and if you try it every day, you’ll be feeling pretty great in less than a week!

Here's a picture of one just like it. Good stuff.

Try swapping the Apples for Mangoes or Kiwis too. Gives it that feeling of Summer in the long Winter months.

And that’s how I get the train on the tracks every morning.
